On the same note I find that Caron Simply soft doesn’t have as much stretch in it as other wools so you might want to make that so it fits your hand and not slightly smaller :) I suggest making the chain slightly smaller than your hand as most wool has a bit of stretch to it and will fit snuggly to start with but then may become very loose. These gloves can be adapted to make any size you like by increasing or decreasing the amount in the starting chain so that it fits around you fingers. You could also add some buttons or a flower to it if you are feeling adventurous. You will also need a 5mm hook as well as scissors and a sewing up needle. I know there are plenty of fingerless gloves out there but I have been asked so many times for the pattern I use to make mine that I have had to write it down because I’m fed up of saying “Sorry it is only available in my brain”.įor this pattern I used Red Heart Super saver but any Aran/Worsted weight is sufficient. Every row after this was DC’s and then when they were slightly longer than her leg a row of HDC in 2 stitches then HDC2tog around with a final row of HDC’s around :) That’s the quick version for anyone who wants to make them. Finally the leg warmers were BLO sc to fit around her legs, slip stitch them together and work around the edge of the BLO rows with sc, The next row I did DC’s in 2 sc and then 2 DC in the next around. The gloves are adapted from my easy peasy quick mitts, made on a much smaller version, her hands are tiny! The ear warmers are a few rows of double crochets (I chained to fit around her head) which is once again something so simple to do. She is now an 80’s raver at the age of three! But how cute does she look? And now I also have ammo for her 18th birthday. She didn’t request leg warmers but after her choosing neon colours it was suggested to me that I should make her some.

So yesterday I treated her, gave her a choice of the wool she wanted me to use and set about making her requests. She has also asked me for a cat but I think she may have forgotten about that now as she hasn’t asked me since. I have been pretty busy the last few months with making stuff for craft fairs that I have had to neglect my eldest daughters requests for hats and gloves.
